Very strange CB problem..

ok so i got this "suped up" CB for cheap from some guy who does all that kinda stuff (i really dont know what it is). it's an old Cobra, and when my PA system is hooked up especially, and occasionally it just does it randomly, whether it's turned on or off- the thing just makes an extremely loud belch that sounds like a high-pitched fog horn i guess you could say, scares the hell out of me every time, anyone have any idea what's going on?? sorry for the lack of knowledge on the subject

Simple cure, unplug the PA Speaker jack from back of radio untill needed.

yeah but then when someone cuts me off it takes 5 times as long for me to get to yell at them than normal...

Put a toggel switch in the PA speaker line. Mount it next to the mic clip. Well, that's just a thought.
