Ok I just installed a 6" lift on my blazer & when i drove it to see how it was going to ride & when I gas it i get a real bad vibration. I checked to make sure my tires weren't falling off or anything because that was the first thing i thought, I didn't tighten the wheels back up... Other than that I haven't checkd anything yet to see what was wrong with it.... Is there any common or obvious things that it could be other than the u-joints? I figured my next day off I'll try the ujoints, but if that's not it i'm going to be clueless as to what I did wrong. Before the lift it drove and rode great with no noticable vibrations or anything

Hi,

This is a common problem with different solutions for everyone.

Some suggestions would be:

Use the search feature so everyone does not have to repeat themselves :D

Driveshaft angles are likely the culprit if this is a new vibration. Your pinion angle is moving when you accelerate. You may need to add shims to your rear axle.

Another thing to check is your driveshaft length. Make sure you have more than a couple of inches in the tail housing.

You should use the search feature. How did you lift it? Does it vib less in 4wd? How are your tcase/trans mounts?
If you used a shackle flip, your rear driveshaft angles are WAY off. If you hear a "hitting" noise also you have a bad mount and yout tcase is hitting the floor. Did you lower the tcase? If it vibrates less in 4wd, somewhere on the rear driveshaft is where your problem lies. Taking off in 4wd puts less torque on the rear and can reduce a vibration on take off. Does the vibration get less at 40-50 mph? Or at any speed? If so you have an angle variation problem(driveshaft angle at rearend doesn't match driveshaft angle at tcase)

my 89 k5 had this problem with a 3 inch lift turnes out the angle of the driveshaft was to much on it when i added some shims to make the angle a little less it stoped

Where did you buy the CV joint driveshaft?

Ask for Ronnie. They were recommended to me by a local truck shop so I called them. Got the part in, and my truck drives perfectly now. Very good experience. Good luck.
