I have been trying to track down a vibration / noise coming from the front. It only occurs in 4 wheel drive and it is there in both low range and high and also its there if I disengage the rear end. (its a twin sticked 205).
the front axle is a 3/4 ton 10 bolt from a newer blazer supposed to be 87.
so after hunting around I think I may have found it. The u-joint on the front axle has some play side to side. It is like the length cup to cup is maybe 1/16 to 1/32 short. The u-joint moves ear to ear.
The sound goes away with some accelerator and never comes back again until going fairly slow. You can feel a slight vibration in the shifter handles for the T-case also. I don't have a tach but there is a range of probably about 500 rpm's that the sound is there. The vibration goes away also.
So can somebody tell me what the proper u-joint part # is or measurment between the ears is.
thanks
