vibration in steering

ball joints be an issue?

the problem seems to have gotten progressively worse

Check your wheel bearings. After I replaced mine (which were stock), the handling got significantly better.

When does it vibrate? All the time? What speed? Some causes I found.... Tires, slightly bent rim, out of balance tires, mud in the inside of the rim can act like a tire weight. What about the drive shaft. If you have the "death wobble" it may be your steering box.

worn TRE will do this i found out ! you need to do an inspection on your rig, jack up fornt end and check it all out, if nothing is worn sloppy including steering box internals then have the tires checked out

I'd turn down that 1200w radio...
that should help... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

ok lets see....ive already established that there is a little play in my right wheel, as far as tilting it out and in. The front tires wore down so fast, that i didnt even bother rotating them, cause id rather fix the problem and buy two new tires than rotating them and ruining all 4. The front tires are VERY loud going down the road. Not sure why, alignment? And like i said they are about totallt worn down and my rear tires look brand new still.
