Everyone has that obstacle (even the mega badass rigs) that they have fought to get over. This was mine. Couldn't do it last time out. This time, I was the 1st and 2nd (on video) to get over. Then some of the other rigs tried. I've got video of a Toyota going over, still uploading though. It's a better line, one I'll have to try next time. :waytogo:

This was the highlight of my Sunday :D

I also played guinea pig for some of the fellas out there. There was a water crossing (not on video unless the random guy filming uploads it somewhere) that I tested the waters :D I backed my truck in slowly, came up just high enough to get inside. I drove out of it, flipped a bitch, and went in, storming the bank on the other side :woot: Flipped another U turn and dropped in from the other side.

This was the "delta", where the little stream met the lake. So I jumped in again and backed myself down the stream towards the lake, testing how far people can cross. I can say, I lost sight of my rear bumper and had lots of water come in after only 20ft :haha: Everyone was going nuts :woot::waytogo: I managed to get out (read silty, sandy, muddy bottom) and kept on truckin'

I'm watching youtube for that one :D

This is the water I was driving into, just to the right, out of frame

Here is the Toyota taking the other line. More left to right vs the kinda straight up I took.

that's right, I've posted this picture 3 times now in 2 minutes :D Just so excited to have it running and getting some action shots. I never get pictures of anything I do.

Air down those tires! Slipping like crazy. Airing down would give you a lot more traction / contact area to work with.

Didn't know Azusa had rocks. I had a horrible experience at Azusa a year ago and haven't been back since. Not a fun time. Hmmm maybe I should go back.

I was running them at 18psi. I can go much lower but the auto deflators stopped early and didn't feel like doing it by hand.

Azusa has 4 rocks lol. But, they have a cool rock crawling course at the entrance now. I've got to give that a try once I go out with another wheeler, someone that can spot me. Haven't been out with anyone I can trust yet.

I understand your situation, but I remember the firsttime iI ever took my truck to the sand. I was down about 15-20psi and couldn't go anywhere! I was too nervous to go lower until people started telling me they run as low as 3-4 psi without bead locks. I finally worked up the courage to air down to 7 psi and then I was starting to go places! Aired down to 4 to see what it was like and man! I could go everywhere a suburban could! It was just crazy to me how much it helped to air down.

Oh I know about airing down :D

I wasn't too concerned about the psi, I only aired down so the ride would be smoother (a necessity at this location). I never planned to run the truck this hard, this soon after it's recent mod. But that didn't last long lol. I've had these down to 15. I'll try lower at some point.

I've also had this truck running 15 psi. I can get anywhere I need to go even pulling larger trailers.

This is another video from that day. It's got a couple Cherokees in it, one of which Norcal_Chirs might like :) Real nice setup

Take the valve cores out ya lazy sob :D

But carry extras just in case

Get an EZ tire deflator, makes airing down easy and accurate.. Last time I was out I was running 15psi. Noticed we all (K5) tend to spin in the rear, no weight back there. You locked front and rear?

Good job man and great video! Sometimes you gotta crawl, sometimes you gotta give it some bump and go, and sometimes you gotta floor it. It's great when you triumph over something that has kicked your butt in the past.

Time for a traction bar. The hop kills!!!!!

Oh the evil obstacles. I have 2 that when Horton 2.0 is done video will be posted, fail or success vid shall be posted

I had to drop to 5psi to make the ass end of my truck low enough to pass Hawaii inspection... Got my sticker and drove to the gas station across the street and aired back up:whistle::haha:
