Video of Western Colorado wheelin'

Awesome, I really wish I was there with you guys :wink1:

How are the winches and lockers working for yourself and your dad?

Maybe elaborate a little more on Nick's flop ;)

I was thinking the whole time how much fun you and Bo would have had. I'm not sure if we could have gotten John or BigNick through. We all had to pull cable 2 times, and never more that one of us in one obstacle. It was like 2 guys could make it through just fine, but the 3rd person just couldn't get it.

This was the first trail I've done where I could see a real benefit to larger tires. On top of the poor traction my wore out tires were providing, I was dragging the diffs - and axle tubes in a few spots - all over the place. Dad was fine with 37's only because of the extra clearance 1/2ton axles provide him.

The lockers are working so well for both of us that we were both bitchin' about needing hydro-assist! :wink1: :haha:

It would have been a real pain in the arse yesterday if we hadn't all had a winch, so right now I would say they are working out great. :D

Nick didn't have any issues after his flop. James, Mike, and I were able to push him back over. The rollbar we made with the bed did its job and he only received a minor dent. He didn't even loose any fluid.

I really wish I could've made this trip, hopefully we'll get to go wheeling soon.

Hydro assist is night and and day compared to basic crossover steering ;)

That's good :thumb:

That's good to hear too :o

It's going to be a month before I can even think about it. When I went to leave for Bangs Canyon yesterday morning I got quite a scare. The motor ran for about 3sec and then there was a sound like ice in a blender and the motor died. Popped the hood and found the distributor cap in pieces alond with the rotor. :(

I had replaced them the day before leaving home. I don't know if it was a flaw in the new parts or the screws on the rotor loosened up and took out the cap. I'm glad it happened in the driveway not on the trail or highway.

I have to order a new cap and rotor; it's an after market distributor so no off-the-shelf parts. My plan is to come back in a month and get it fixed.

Its funny how noone listens to the spotter. Maybe thats why alot of the crawler guys drive toyotas, so they can here the spotter :D.

Oh I could hear the "Whoa, whoa!" I just chose to ignore it. :haha:

Looks like a ton of fun. Did you beadlock those XML's? Looks like you are running alot less air in them and they are hooking up better for you. Lockers look like they helped the cause too. Awesome action. If that kind of wheeling was closer to FC it would have been alot harder to get me to leave CO.

I know you would have had a blast doing those trails. And you're right, there's definitely nothing like them around FtC.

The tires are actually the XL's. I have the weld-on beadlocks so I run the pressure at 10 or less. Basically my gage doesn't read below 10psi, so that's where I stop. The tires had less than 25% tread when I bought them - I guess you knew that since you hauled them for me :D. They were doing okay at the beginning of the day, but by the end they weren't hooking up as well. One of the front tires is bald in the middle of the tread now except where I added grooving. I'm definitely happy with how they've lasted for tires that cost me $42 a pop.

I know somebody who has some used 42" TSLs and beadlock wheels:D
Trust me, I haven't forgotten. :p: It's just all the additional costs that would be involved. :doah:

After 6hrs of "Code 14!" on Topless I was thinking how much nicer it would be running 42s. :D

New video :D
