VIN decoding

I am sure this has been covered 10 million times, but could someone point me in a good direction to get my VIN decoded. I want to find out what kinda tranny and rear end is in this truck I bought and google isnt helping me at all, any help ? Thanks !

I think you`re looking for an RPO Decoder, rather than a VIN Decoder, as I don`t believe that kind of info is accessible with just a VIN.

i got a few chevy manuals that some mechanics i know gave me, i can look it up

here is something quick that might help

GQ1 -- AXLE REAR, STD RATIO
GT4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.73 RATIO
GT5 -- AXLE REAR, 4.10 RATIO
GU4 -- AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO
GU5 -- AXLE REAR, 3.23 RATIO
GU6 -- AXLE REAR, 3.42 RATIO
G80 -- AXLE REAR, LIMITED SLIP (POSITRACTION)
HC4 -- AXLE REAR, 4.56 RATIO

These can be found in you glovebox.

Yup.... I got 2.73s on 35" tires. Talk about a dog off the line. I wonder how much longer my TH350 will last.
