Hello Everybody
I am just wondering how you can tell what year is your vehicle and where can you find your VIN numbers, I know about the dash and the driver door, but where else can you find the VIN numbers on our blazers??

The VIN is also stamped on the top of the frame up front I think. Dash or door jamb usually suffice though.

I have a VIN decoding section in my Chilton's manual and my LMC catalog...usually between the two of them I can get all the pertinent info.

Where on top of the frame could it be?
I cleaned up the front towards the cab and never notice any numbers except from the 10 bolt axle (Behind) and thats it, Would it be somewhere inside the frame, your guess is as good as mine? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm not sure that the stampings on the frame are going to be the same as the VIN

There are stampings in at least 3 spots on the frame and none of them match the VIN number sequence.

I thought so...
You can switch the dash and the VIN is on it..
You can switch the door and the VIN is on that too..
Where else can you find it, damn! my blazer is weird?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

On my 72 k10, the vin is stamped into the frame on the top drivers side close to the power steering pump. The numbers match the build sequence number. On my 85 CUCV, the only numbers I have found are on the passenger side beneath the door, outside side of frame, but the numbers dont appear to match anything in the VIN. Greg72, I am a little suprised yours dont match, I had a 72 C10 with the numbers in the same place and they also matched the VIN, I was under the impression that on 72's at least, the stamped numbers were always the VIN build sequence number.
