I posted this in the tire thread earlier this week, but I decided to repost here to hopefully get a little more exposure.

Has anyone ever heard of these tires?

Comforser MT, 235/85/16

Centennial Dirt Commander MT, 235/85/16

I like them because they look kind of vintage, but are new. I'm wanting to put tires on my truck that have a vintage look.

Anyone know of any other vintage looking tires in the 235/85/16 size? How about in the LT 9.50/R16.5 size?

I've got a full set (6 wheels) of 16.5" steel wheels and a set (5 wheels, need one more) of 16" steel wheels. Were there different widths of wheel, or would they be the same width (for their respective sizes)?

This is for my Suburban which will be a camping/expedition type rig when "finished."

those look like some off the wall import cheepy tire . . . my many years doing tires in the past I don't recall them . and there is a big influx of import cheepy tires these days .

don't forget the 255/85/16 size . tall skinny 33" . look for cooper tire in that size . they have a good knobby pattern .

Those tires come pre-separated. Imo they are garbage. My wholesale cost is so low I wouldn't even buy one as a tire swing and expect it to last.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll keep looking.

I have looked at the Coker site before I've considered getting those Super Traxion tires too.

I have Super Traxions on my CJ5, definitely have THE LOOK (same tread pattern, in fact, as the spare that looks like it's from 1962). Off road they're totally adequate for that vehicle. The on-road handling is pretty lousy tho-- typical bias ply stuff. Following grooves on the road is probably the biggest irritation.

For vintage looking radials I like the Dunlop Mud Rover. Nice handling tire and looks correct on old trucks, IMO.

I don't know if they still do but STA used to make a radial version of the 9.00-16 Super Lug.

Downside is it's 36" tall so won't fit a stock truck.

Coker Tire is in Chattanooga, I drove up there one day and bought the tire that is my spare. They have pretty much anything you could want...they are licensed for the original tire molds but use modern materials. They aren't cheap, but as I recall it wasn't a lot more expensive than a normal tire.

i forgot about dunlop mud rover . this is a old school look for sure.

and i wish coker tire would make the bfg radial t/a white letter current design in the long discontinued size of 285/70/15 my wanted ad https://ck5.com/forums/threads/bfg-radial-t-a-285-70-15-tires.327594/

so many old school hot rods look KILLER with this combo . i wanted a set for the back of my 2 wheel burn project .

Pick up a Hemmings Motor News and look in that I think Firestone or GoodYear still make some tires for old cars @kgblazerfive might be of some help. But the https://www.hemmings.com/ will have tire ads might not be truck tires as we know them. My info may be out of date since it has been 5 years since I last read a Hemmings...
@campfire he might have some info on this subject as he knows a lot of strange things; me being one of those.
