vintage radio options

Holy overpriced radio batman! What's so great about that one over the few other direct fit aftermarkets available?

I guess if you want it to look just like the original, but work like a modern stereo system, it's not a horrible deal. I spent about the same on mine, and it's not that great.

Just cut the dash... They make repair panels if you ever decide that you want the original look again.

Speaking from experience, the retro look radios don't work great. I have the RetroSound ( http://www.retrosoundusa.com/?gclid=CLmIl6Guv6cCFQUDbAodGgqXAg) and although it looks good and installation was a snap the sound quality leaves allot to be desired.

Cut the dash and for the same price or less you can have a really good head unit.

I second that idea. I bought the RetroSound radio and I'm not impressed. The knobs dont match and it doesn't sound very good. Looking back, it wouldn't have been a big deal to cut the dash. I'm not restoring my Blazer to original.

besides you can always keep the part you cut out and weld it back into place. save some $

Thanks for the actual feedback on their radios. I was semi-considering using one rather than finishing mine, but I may just keep at it.

Jagged has a Dual head unit in his F150 that's got the two knob and small rectangular display setup. Said it works pretty good and wasn't terribly expensive. Ipod compatible and I think has a USB slot for thumb drives.

With CD players going the way of the dodo I kind of wonder what options are coming.
