I want to put a late 90's Chevy 350 Vortec engine in my K5 Blazer. Will my alternator, power steering, and a/c brackets bolt up to the Vortec block? My current block is a mid 80's Chevy 305.

Also, does anyone know if someone makes a "closed loop" wiring harness to make a Vortec engine run?

The brackets will bolt up just fine. The wiring harness i'm sure someone makes as a standalone harness but I don't know who so just do a google search and i'm sure you'll fine a vendor who makes one.

In all honesty, I would do away with the computer setup. You can get a vortec manifold and run a carb on it with no problems. The 96-98 OBDII system is prone to many issues. The CSFI system in the intake is prone to carbon build up, unless you go with the multi-port injection.

The exhaust manifolds with bolt right up to the heads with no issues.

I was just wondering if it would fit between the frame rails though :dunno:

I remember reading about clearance issues from putting later model 350 headers on an older 350.. thats why I ask

If you use the correct headers for the chassis, and keep the engine where the general put it, it will bolt in the same as any other gen 1 SBC.

Quoted for truth, as much as I love the 94-98 chevy/GMC bodystyle, I hate the vortec FI setup just as much.
