vortec 4.3 vintage?

Trying to identify a year range of a friends 4.3 in his buggy. Can anyone tell me what years or if only certain vehicles this would have come out of?

The black runners were almost always S-10 Blazers from 1992-1994. Though some had silver runners most were black. The Astro van also had black runners but never had the plastic "Vortec" decorative cover. Could be wrong but that's what I remember. If the Spark knock module is the original that is the easiest way to tell because each vehicle used a different part number if I remember correctly

I've got a '96 Astro sitting in my driveway I've been working on, this looks nothing like it, it still used the the TBI looking throttle body unit and that single injector or something or other SCPI (Sequential Central Port Injection) yadda yadda.. My mothers '94 Silverado, obviously neither of the S-10 or van uses the same TBI setup as my '89 Burb, obviously 2 cylinders missing,,,although it's labeled as a Vortec motor.
