I was just in a customers shop and they were talking about installing the newer design Vortec injector system in a Chevy pickup. I was confused so they explained it to me. Supposedly there is new system that replaces the "spider" with individual injectors inside the intake manifold. I am wondering if anyone knows much about this system?

I have been chasing a rich condition on my pickup for years now. Every 6 months or so the check engine light kicks on, and for all my diagnostic skills, I cannot find anything wrong. I have always suspected an issue with the "spider", so much this system would be a good change for me.

From what I have read about it; It is less prone to clogging like the original poppet injectors, can handle higher fuel pressure and I have heard it give better mph, power, and throttle response. The downside is that the injectors are still rated at something like 19gph and are a funny size that is not interchangable. Alot can be read about it on fullsizechevy.com or pacificp.com/forums
