Vortec Heads for $369.90 shipped???

I bought a Vortec head conversion deal they had going on about 8 years ago, and was very pleased with the parts, and the throughness of the kit they put together.
Good people to deal with at that time.

Ive been into their showroom actually. I lived about 3 minutes from there for a year.
Whenever HotRod magazine, or CarCraft mentions Vortec heads, they always mention Scoggin-Dickey immediately after. They are THE place for vortec heads.
They even have several sets that the work over in house, that arnt available anywhere else

They kick as I've orderd frommthem many, many times always top notch

I bought the vortec head kit from them . ( Modified with springs and high lift guide seats ) Great service and prices ! Still using heads 5 years later.

so how would a guy go about putting these on an 86 chevy 350?

What all is needed?

Gaskets and a matching Vortec intake manifold. Some heads are drilled for both styles (old 6 bolt and new 4 bolt), although none of them came like this from the factory. Valve covers may need to be changed too. Unless you have center bolts already, or the heads have been drilled for the older perimeter style. New head bolts would be a good idea, but aren't 100% necassary.

Besides the heads, it would require a new intake manifold also.
On the older style "perimeter" bolt heads, like you probably have, the intake bolts go in at an angle. On Vortecs, the holes are straight up and down.

So..
The heads
Intake manifold $100-200
center bolt valve covers $10 on ebay or craigslist (or adapters to use your perimeter bolt valve covers)
Gasket set.
