Vortec intake spacer

I've never had a Vortec intake apart so I don't know what the inside is like, so do you guys think this is a worthwhile piece? Sounds like a too good to be true thing. You know, like everything they try to sell these days. I may be going back to driving my 1997 C2500 and if so I want to put an exhaust, headers, and maybe some other stuff on it. This is one thing I found in the search.

it looks like it would at least increase the plenum volume, so i guess it may make more hp if your engine requires more plenum volume. looks like maybe a worthwhile part, but maybe not worth almost $300. need to ask at what rpm did it make that "extra" 21hp and 21 lb-ft and what mods did that engine have.

yeah I was figuring it would need a cam, headers, port work, then you see the gain.
