Vortec Swap Question

I have a 96 GMC sonoma with the 4.3 and have been planning on doing a V8 swap with a carberated motor. But a buddy said he's got a friend with a 96 1/2 ton with a 350 that could be bought real cheap. My question is are the wiring harnesses the same in both trucks. Just wondering if you could swap the motor and computer. Would they just plug into the stock sonoma harness. Thanks for any input. nope, most of the connectors are the same, but the v6 is only controlling 6 injectors vs. the v8 has 8 injectors, and I imagine the wires at the computer are probably on different pins, I don't know what else is different, but I would say swap the harness too.

I figured there was more to it. I'll probably use the 400 SBC i already have with a carb. Thanks for the help tho. Jason
