my brother is starting to build a prerunner out of his 96 chevy 1/2 pickup... its got a 305 in it an his friend told him he could put a 350 throttle body on it is this true? i dont know anything about vortec motors.

As far as I know the "throttle body" on a vortec is interchangable between a 4.3, 5.0, and 5.7 as the replacement part for all of them are the same part number.

true but its the same TB so there is no real improvement. If he wants performance gain, he needs a ported TB and a throttle blade that doesn't have the stupid air restrictor(I just cut mine off with a die grinder).
