What was the first year they came out

I have a 98 Suburban that needs a new one

It has a 350 what kind of work am I looking at to put a Big Block in it

What kind of work to put a cummins in it

96 first full v8 vortec .

and obdII stuff like this is a little more fun to swap motors on like you want with 454 or cummins. a lot of states have rules on emmisions for this kind of stuff.

so check before you swap .

We don't have any for a diesel, just safety

ya but most state's like mine go by engine code on vin to determin the motor for class of test. so you would have to go threw so much crap to get the registration to let you do diesel .

then we also go by weight class for obdII checks . so if 1/2 ton its going to require plug in and test. so if you have no gas engine to test you will have problems.

i would check how thay go about this in your state.
