VP racing fuel available in Nevada?

I just bought some today locally, $85 for 5 gals. Yep, that's $17 a gallon. Plus, I have to fill out a paper stating my intended use and that it's not going in a street registered vehicle. Last time I bought some, ~2009ish, it was only $10 a gallon.

So I'm looking to buy another 5 gal container of VP fuel. I'm trying to make the Rubicon trip that's coming up in May. Thinking of grabbing some fuel from NV since I'll be fairly close (I think) and I'm sure it will be much cheaper (I think)

Anyone near Lake Tahoe that knows of a shop selling it?

when I was in Barstow, I had trouble getting VP and just ordered Klotz and mixed my own. I was running a Honda 600R in hare scrambles out in the desert, it had Honda HRC 628 kit and was running 12:1 compression

There is a gas station here locally that used to sell race fuel at the pump a couple of years ago but now they can only sell it in 5 gallon pales inside the convienence store. We can buy 5 gallon jugs for 70 all day long from the local motorcycle shop or from Napa. Let me know if you want me to grab some before the trip. My buddy has a 50 gallons in his garage for his ZZ502 as well.

Boulder city Airport used to sell Avgas for cheap. You might give them a shot.

I was told av gas is not what you think it is . the octane # is for specific elevation .

so watch out on that .

hope when I am ready my vp c-12 mix gas wont kill me . 4gal a tank with 2 stroke oil to boot.

Lots of people use Avgas in race engines in Vegas with no issues.

There's a VP station in reno/sparks. I'm sure you could probably get it at summit racing in sparks also. Don't know if that would be too far out of the way...

They sell race gas right at the dune entrance here. Dont you guys have lots of dunes????

Reno/Sparks is a bit out of the way
Anything from the pump around here is 10-15% ethanol. A local 76 station sells 100 octane but it's still ethanol and no additives.

Dunes don't sell anything but passes to the dunes. Oh, and they'll sell you speeding tickets etc.

Might take Skunked up on his offer. I guess I'll do some google searching for motorcycle shops just across the boarder, maybe pop in after the trail is finished.

Napa in carson city has it.
There is also a Ramos oils that i think carries it as well in carson city. Not far from tahoe
