vss 205. how rare?

just picked one of these up, I dont need the 305 but for 50 bucks I couldn't go wrong, anyways how rare are these,


I was thinking about passing it on but if they are hard to find I might save it for a future project or something.

I assume these are 89-91 only?

I thought the last 205 was in 1985.

its from a 4L80E/205 in '91. since it was only available for 1 year, id think itd be very rare. would be perfect for ifs rigs wanting a bulletproof t-case for a sas

vss was only in '90-91 rigs with solid axle, ifs rigs started it in '88

VSS for a 205 was one year, inless yer talking about K-5s and burbs. I have a 90 crew outside with a 400/205 with no VSS.

hmm interesting as I thought.. hehe it came from a crew cab 1 ton, but the truck was not there for me to see.

Just an FYI for anyone interested in this setup - North West Fab will be fabricating the VSS tailhousing for 205's starting in early 2007.

I just popped into this tread to see if I could snag one earlier

How interchangable are these tailhousings? Would I be able to put a GM VSS on a divorced Ford 205?

Apparently the VSS and non-VSS output shafts are identical on the GM app's, so if it can be done with the non-VSS parts, it should with the VSS. Can't see anything else that would be different.

The VSS 205 also came behind the SM465 in '91

The shafts may be the same, but you'd have to press on the tone/reluctor ring thingy.

You can't get the tone ring from GM either...I may be attempting to pull the ring off of mine, to see if it will even come off.
