ok ls swaped guys, what do you do with your vss so your computer has something to read. i was told if you dont hook anything up to the LS computer for the VSS it will stall when ever you slow down rapidly. is this true. what are you guys running.:dunno:

Use the dakota digital one when you say 4speed do you mean 700r4
Part number SEN-01-4160 here it is on my NP208

Yea, don't know if you mean manual or auto trans.
Also be sure you have a ECM for a fourwheel drive application.
2wd ECM's do not have an enabler to tell it when it's in 4-low. Without that, the engine will act up and not run right.

Does this only effect it if it has the 4l60e I haven't used my 4wd much yet but I didn't notice it running any different when I did use it. I'm using a th350 trans.

To my knowledge, the enabler tells the ECM that it is in 4-low and that it must adjust it's shifting based from a 1 to1 to a 27 to 1 ratio. And yes, this is for a 4l60e.

power block is doing a 4x4 ls swap, it's on now...

Were you able to tune the computer to read a different pulse per mile? How does that work?

As long as you are not using the 4l60e you can set the pulse per mile to what ever you need for the sensor you are using. There is a selection in the tuning for it. The 4l60e will only work with the factory pulse per mile which I think is 4k.

I would program the LS computer to abuse management "zero"

This is good information. Hopefully I'll be able to use it. Thanks!

I know not many CK5 members are as experienced as I am with EFI Programming / Tuning. Setting "Abuse Management to ZERO" in the LS Flash eliminates the need for a VSS.:D

I find Power Block to have good technical information, but Power Block really pushes hard to the sale the products of it's sponsors.

The screen shot below shows that the LS Flash can be programmed for different VSS pulses. One LS Flash VSS option for a manual transmission / Turbo 350 / Turbo 400 is a 30 pulse generator from BTB Products: http://www.btbprod.com/index.cfm?Action=Products/Details2&productID=3695&subCategoryID=311

The screen shot below shows where in the LS Flash the VSS pulses can be changed.
