I just finished a "factory tach" install in my '87 K5. Everything seems to work as it should. However, I noticed that when driving in reverse, my speedo reads less than zero. I haven't noticed this happening before the tach install, but also I never paid attention before now. Is this normal, or is there some sort of stop, or internal "peg" missing from my speedo? I noticed that the non VSS speedo from the cluster I got the tach from, has a built in stop so the needle "pegs" at zero and can't go beyond (sub zero). Is my VSS speedo missing something?
Thanks

Well, I pulled the speedo out of the dash and studied it thoroughly. I could not find any sort of mechanism that would function as a "zero" peg. Since it's an eddy current speedo and holding it back won't damage anything, I machined and installed a peg of my own. Works great and is nearly invisible. Problem solved, I hope.
