I bought a '96 Dodge chassis cab 4x4 diesel dually for parts, cheap-0, and today discovered that the rear axle (Dana 80) has 3.54 gears and a Power-Lok, and is the same width backing-plate to backing-plate as the Dana 70HD in my crew cab. Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside

The gears will be much better than my 4.10's behind the Cummins, and I've been looking for a Power-lok for my D70HD for a long time. Axle swap coming!!


OH, and HOLY CRAP is that ever a big ring gear

pinion nut is 450-500 ft lb .
