32 spline?? which one?? Input? what do they come in??

forgot what year but chevy switched to 32 spline 465 and 205 its a male 465 and female 205, no coupler. its the strongest you can get, no 10 splines to worry about and its super easy to hook up to a doubler:D the 205 face is a round pater too, not figure 8

That would be a 1985 on up for the 205 and the 465 is the same as the 465/208 combo's GM started in 1981.
If you do go with a ORD Doubler you will need the 1980 to 1984 short 32 spline inout gear though not the long 1985 to 1991 gear.
CONGRAT's !!!!

i know all about how to mate em:D it is a big bearing case though so thats nice, but i guess marvs find with the 31 spline ford input doesnt really change that...all id need now is a 203 and short input. not sure if i want to go doubler right away cause thats more money which means more down time and i really wanna get this rig goin:crazy: ill prolly get it all done, and do a doubler next winter and then send the drivelines ill have made up back out to get shortened/ lengthend:rolleyes:

Thanks for the good words. i knew the 465 was early 80's but i weasnt sure on the 465/205 combo. it was thesame time as when they went to hydraulic clutch. but know all about how to mate em up for a doubler. been doin lots of reading:D it is a big bearing case though so thats nice, but i guess marvs find with the 31 spline ford input doesnt really change that...all id need now is a 203 and short input. not sure if i want to go doubler right away cause thats more money which means more down time and i really wanna get this rig goin:crazy: ill prolly get it all done, and do a doubler next winter and then send the drivelines ill have made up back out to get shortened/ lengthend:rolleyes:

So what are you looking for for a doubler?? I want to go doubler as well, I need a trans for my truck, and pretty sure it will be a 465 over a TH400. I found a 465/203 at my buddy's yard, but I will need new shafts. I would like to know how I can take a div 203 and mate it to a 205. Anybody know how to do that?? And cheap?? Or the cheapest way to do a doubler?? Probly those two words dont' go together in the same sentence.....

If you found a 465/203 then your definetly on your way to the best 4 speed doubler. you use the 465 with a short 32 spline mainshaft, not the stock one(ord sells em),465/203 adapter 32 spline 203 (not the 10 spline) and a short inpout 205. this offers you the best strength an the shortest overall length. i would be doing my 465 with the long output, the adapter i have, a 203 then 205.

you can also do 465, 465-203 adapter, (do both 203 and 465 10 spline) and then 205. if you need new shafts you might as well go 32 and not even bother with doing 10 spline setup over again

to mount a divorce 203 to 205 its the same as a regular doubler as far as i knew, the back of the case isnt differant, only the front. this would be the cheapest way because youd only need a 2wd 465 and wouldnt need to put in shafts into anything

How would you mount the div 203 to a 205?? This is the way I'd like to go, that way I wouldn't have to change all my driveshafts.

the same way youd mount a 203 to a 205 any other time, with a adpater plat wheter it be ord or nwf

So it looks like if I want to do a doubler, i need to fork over roughly $500 for the plate??
