Hey LS guys, I put a Walbro 255Lp in tank pump in my blazer to support my 5.3L, it was good for about two weeks then today it just crapped out while idling.

Has anyone heard of this from walbro pumps.

I've had great service from mine for about 2 yrs now...

lot of guys use a 96-97 c3500 350 vortec stock pump . direct fit to stock tbi sender and vortec was 60 psi system .

AC Delco 50-60 psi pump for TPI camaro.

Had a Walbro, whined loudly for about a month, never kept perfect pressure, died when it could barely manage a sporadic 20psi less than 3 months of service. No thanks. Delco has been perfect for the 8 months. It makes zero noise.

Well I just bought a airtex pump from the parts store. They quit carrying ac delco so this is all I could get today.

Wish me luck that this one isn't a pos also

Odds are high that it is a POS.
Unless you have to get it running today, take the airtex back, and order a Delco from Rock Auto or some other online retailer if you can't get it locally.

Yea I'm trying to get it running tonight, I'm gonna order a ac delco one this weekend but today I have to have it running

Well I got it in and it runs like a champ now, I'm not happy about having a cheapy fuel pump in my truck but it'll do for now.

as a mechanic for years I have installed a lot of the airtex and no real problems .

lots of bad batches every now and then across the board.

my k30 plow truck has a napa brand in it doing just fine.

Just keep the sales slip in a safe place, just in case!...I think they have a one year warranty?..too bad they dont have to pay for labor if one fails, then they would be sure to make them higher quality..

My friend has had quite a few Airtex and lately "Spectra" fuel pumps die shortly after being installed at his shop--the Spectra's used to be pretty good, had very few go bad in years past, but some other company bought them out (Keystone?),and he's had problems with some since, some leaky brand new radiators too, that were made in Korea...

I have a 255 going in my ls swap, don't remember which one it is off the top of my head but I hope it works fine. :doah:

Well the parts guy said it was a life time warranty so who knows lol, but yea hopefully this one will last for a minute. I'm getting too good at dropping the k5 gas tank solo lol

Over on ls1 tech there is a whole big thing about walbro products heading south :doah:
