Not a fan of how the custom exhaust on my 89 is routed; it dips way below the front driveline and is even lower than the t-case skidplate, and the exhaust dumps right after the muffler which is right under the cab, can you say DROOOONE. (pretty sure its a flowmaster) Not that I'm worried about scraping exhaust on anything but it is ugly.

I see Rockauto has a Walker kit which includes a premium "quiet flow" muffler, has anybody used this or any others?

Truck is lifted 4" if it matters

Only kit I have ever used is the Hooker manifold back dual kit. Uses the mufflers of your choice and fits pretty good

I haven't installed it yet, but I've got a quietflow ss in the garage to use at some point. Don't like whatever flowmaster the PO used that I cobbled onto the current truck.

In my research the Walker Quietflows were supposed to be the quietest out there. I want to say in testing Borlas were next quietest.

Walker did/does make exhaust for OEMs, if they replicated the sound of the stock setups, I'll be happy.

Getting a pipe over the driveshaft is pretty tough from what I've experienced (I have to deal with header collector length, manifold probably easier). I thought I had mine plenty high enough, and it's still got a large u-shaped dent in it where the driveshaft clearanced itself.

My brother has it on his '77. Sounds good and the fitment was really good.

I have a walker ss muffler . I have it set for side exit driverside . Its o.k. sound . It DOES rust on the case as its not 304 ss . Mine is 3" in/outlet on a L31 vortec 350 .

Honestly, I would get a build it yourself kit if you have the means. It will be just as much work (ok a little more) than a "bolt on" kit. I got a Flowmaster stainless builders kit for my K5 and it turned out GREAT. Like no BS, it came out much better than I expected. I will see if I have pictures for you.

Did you Tig this kit?

Thanks for the input, everyone. I think the Walker kit i'm looking at has side exit exhaust. Whatever gets it out from under the cab!

I bought a Walker kit for a C-10 I used to have. After getting it I ended up using only the tailpipes and threw the rest in my metal pile and made my up own pipes from the headers to the mufflers.
