My k5 seems to wander back and forth at speeds is this normal for a 6" lift and 35" tsl's? I tightened the steering box down a little to take care of the loose steering but I still am trying to figure out the wandering problem. would an alignment help I just installed the lift a while back but have no miles on it till today.

Have you read any of the posts on wandering front end or the ORD steering brace?

Do you have a steering correction for your lift? If you don't, that won't help. Also, check your tie-rod ends and ball joints. If those parts are worn out, the steering will wander a lot. I just replaced my tie rod ends with Moog parts and noticed a huge difference in the steering feel. Its nice and tight now.

Check the area around the steering box mount to the frame for cracks. I assume you meant when you said "tightened down the steering box a little" you were referring to the pressure increase adjustment, not that it was flopping around on the frame (the box I mean). Either way, that ORD brace is a necessity regardless of what you find, especially with 6" lift and 35" tires. You can see the pics of the install on my site below, very easy to do in about an hour.

Also check you steering shaft at the fire wall. You will see a bulky, round piece on the shaft. The rubber in those wear out. You can buy(for about $250)a part that replaces that with a u-joint. If you have any fabricating knowlage, you can make something of you own with a u-joint. That is going to be one of my next projects for the Sub.
