As the title says I'm thinking of building a roof rack/basket for my truck and I am mainly looking for help on where to buy materials in the Phoenix metro area. Are there steel suppliers you other AZ guys like to deal with? Does anyone have an affordable pipe bender they could recommend?

I'm currently thinking of building the rack/basket out of different diameters of steel pipe/tube. I like the looks of the Smittybuilt Defender Rack roof baskets and would like to build something similar. Thanks for any help.

There's several guys around that area. Add Phoenix to your thread title if it will let you.

Thanks. I can't seem to find an option to change the title. I'm still trying to get use to the new format. Hopefully someone will be able to help.

Thanks for the video warrpath4x4

Industrial metal supply has the largest show room of steel I've ever been to, I use to get my shop steel from them when I ran my fab shop. I'm in cave creek now so I use southwest steel, they're in deer valley, have a good selection.

Don't have any experience with other benders besides hossfeld

For something that new, buy legit Thule mounts and bars. Even if you build the rack. No reason to reinvent the mounts on a newer trucj

My problem with using a set up like that is it usually mounts the rack/basket too high for my liking. I want the rack/basket to sit as close to the roof as possible.
