You mean a cab/chassis 14FF axle? or a Dana 70 Dually axle? Pre '91 would not have used the 14FF in the Dually pickups.

Actually my friend has a 14bff in his 85 dually.
After 84 they started to put some 14bff as well as the D70, I believe the GT5 was the 14bff and the GT8 was the D70 both 4.10 gears.
I just bought an 88 crew cab that also had the 14bff.

GT5 and GT8 are ratios, not axle models, im sure you know that, i said it anyways
and i see more 14 bolt duallies than dana duallies big time, i ive only seen two or three dana dually trucks ever, everything else has been 14 bolt
dana was only under some 80-up dually pickups i know, yeah, i have gm specifications sheets showing illustration of them and listing 70 axle and rear bar and all,. 3+3 cab
apparently some running around now were originally not pickups or something

I dont think he cares, he just wants something that will bolt in. Its 2wd, so he doesnt care much about gears are even in it.

If you read carefully on the GT5 and GT8 description, GT8 is the HD.
The only difference between D70 and the 14bff is the axle tube diameter, and the D70 in dually form is the HD.
That led me to believe that the GT8 is the D70 dually.
Why else would they have 2 codes for the same ratio.
