I am in hot pursuit of a1986 GMC or chevy shortbed stepside pickup. I might be able to do a different year but close to an 86. If you have one please let me know. Manual, standard, prefered. Thanks. [email protected]

Perhaps a better word for manual would be a standard transmission lol.

Gotcha, manual tranny :waytogo: :haha:

Dude, your about a month too late, could've got one at the junkyard out of an 85 k5 :doah:

BTW, haven't been 100% since Friday afternoon, on vacation this week :D :woot:

Just, uh, to note, that there's a whole classified ad section, wherein this should be.

Also, you should prolly be clear: I think you're wanting to buy a whole truck, but some folks have thought you wanted just the service manual (a book), or the manual transmission itself.

Still looking?

I've a 1986 GMC Sierra 1500, 4.3V6, 3-on-the-tree, stepside I'm thinking of parting with. Great runner, straight body, needs fresh paint. I'm going to list it in the classifieds as well.

Dude, the original post is almost a year old...

Yeah, I know.

I was kind of hoping someone would pick on me so I could ask them 1) what you think I should ask for it, and 2) if you can verify that this was the last year of the 3-on-the-tree transmission? If you have knowledge you'd care to share, I'd surely appreciate it.

What an oddball. Ive never seen a 4.3 square body (although they did exists for 2 years) let alone a truck that late with three on the tree.

new guy read the section rules . no sale / wanted ad's or how much is my stuff worth.

dont need to bump a old post like this .

and yes i have parted a few 2wd 4.3 trucks.

got one now with 4.3 and th400 2wd tranny short bed fleetside.

also used one for body swap that was same setup but longbed truck.

but i have never seen a 3 on the tree version tho other than old stright 6 engine.

Sorry...

Apologies; I am new and just learning the site. I found it through this thread, which is why I started here. I shall read the rules before I post again.

It is an oddball truck; I can't find another like it. No p/s, so my elderly father-in-law can't drive it anymore. Otherwise, he'd keep it.

Not sure what a "web wheeler" is, but (though I've had 3 chevy trucks and spent a fair amount of time wheeling in Unimogs) one of my degrees is in English. Good guess :)
