Prob wrong forum but I need a factory CD/Radio for a 2003 Sliverado.
Hit up your local salvage yards.
Just a suggestion:
I've never done business with them, but they list quite a few later-model OEM stereos from various automakers.
I have the OEM radio and Amp form my 2002 Avy if it will work.
If you can't find one for a reasonable price, I'd look into a aftermarket headunit (car stereo).
Guess I should have given all the details. My grandfather bought a 2003 recently. The CD player doesn't work, won't take the cds. I was just wanting to find him a cheap replacement. Looks like I can buy one for around $180 but then he'll have to have it "reset" for $45 at the stealership. This is more than he has to spend.
Readymix if yours will work in the 03 maybe we could work something out.
You can get a fairly nice headunit off ebay for a lot less money. If your grandfather wouldn't mind a aftermarket stereo, that might be the way too go.
I will try to find out if it will work. Mine never had the pass-lock activated either so it would not need to be reset.
Guess what . Scosche makes a din mount now with the factory computer stuff underneath in a little lcd panel . For a little bit of an investment , you can retain the computer functions and oil life monitor and changing the settings of the car ....... all while having your din size radio of choice above it .
I am getting one for my wife in the near future and adding a new head unit to our 2003 with the computer interface via the radio .
