I have a nice diesel engine and NV4500 trans that I'd like to swap into a crew cab truck.

My first priority is a nice body and interior. gotta be rust free. I'd prefer a 1-ton and duallys are fine. Crew cabs are great too!

I'm in Albany NY and I'm willing to travel. I'll be driving to Florida a couple times this winter so anything on the East Coast is fair game. I'll be swapping the drivetrain so a tired engine or busted tranny are fine.

Let me know! Thanks in advance,

~Brett

I'm so tempted by the rust-free western trucks! I just don't know when I'd have time to drive cross country to get one.

I just made a deal on a restored AZ truck. VERY nice.

It needs a motor, and that's perfect for my Isuzu diesel/ NV455 5-speed swap.

Is this a 5.2 Isuzu diesel or an smaller 3.? or 4.?? I have lots of love for the isuzus and their dependability.

I'm installing the 4-cylinder 3,9 liter turbo diesel from an Isuzu NPR Box truck. I'll be using a dodge cummins 2wd NV4500 5-speed trans with a custom adapter plate and clutch.

I love the Isuzu engines too. I'll be adding a big intercooler, a larger turbo, and cranking the fuel to get power near a stock cummins 6bt, but without a 1200lb engine.

I have one of these Isuzu motors in my K5 now. here's the build: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258780

These engines are in a 12,000lb GVW truck and they move along pretty well. I figure with some mods I chould be able to get great mileage and haul a 1 or 2 car trailer easily. AND reliably!

Very nice. My first truck was an '82 Isuzu P'up with an NA 2.2L diesel. It only made 58 hp and around 80 ft lb of torque, but it got 35 MPG. Great for a HS kid with a small budget that like to go to the desert and the beach a lot. Glad to see someone looking outside the box(truck) for something different motor-wise.
