In the hunt for a FWC Camper for my K5. Willing to travel , willing to rebuild as well. Please let me know what you have. Thanks for the help !!

Took 3 years to find mine. That was before the prices started shooting up.

Sweet spot to look is in Colorado as that's where they were built and most stuck around. However as @Capt Ron and I have found the folks that do have them are realizing they have something valuable.

Currently in my normal searches none are showing up.

I know Ron has talked to a guy with one that unfortunately thinks it's worth a mint. It's got a very rusty body and the camper is almost as rough. The guy wanted way more that either would be worth alone.

I had a guy hit me up from IG that had found one in Denver but it got destroyed in transport on the way to California. Ron and I were trying to get the guy with the rusty Blazer to sell us the camper only to replace the destroyed one but he wouldn't budge.

Ron can help you get in touch with the guy. Full disclosure though. He wants way more than they are worth. He is unwilling to split so you will end up with an over priced rusty K5 in the process. 36298.jpeg

Just to put some perspective on the pricing. In the pic below mine setup is on the right and my buddy Ian's is on the left. Both were in a similar state when bought. Both needed the wood replaced in the cab over and cab wall. Both really need the canvas replaced but haven't been done yet. Both needed de-grunged and rework on the cabinet.

I paid $300 for mine and the guy selling allowed me to pull it from the Blazer it was on. Ian's was $3000 and the guy initially was willing to split but had second thoughts over the deal due to the massive influx of other buyers that found his craigslist ad. Ron ended up buying the Blazer for another $2000.

I bought mine in the summer of '17 and Ian got his a few months back. The market has gone nuts.

Unless the Blazer and camper are pristine and don't need any work to them I would not pay top shelf price. The blue one in my earlier post to me is not with any more than Ian's at $3000. We already offed that guy that much and he shot it down. If the Blazer was in better shape sure. But the Blazer needs a ton of sheet metal to fix it before getting to the camper. I know what it's like to want one and even though they rarely come up there are still others out there to find. You have to be patient and not always go with the first one you see.

Personally I'd let the blue one rot in the guys driveway before paying his ransom for it. IMG_20210327_134800612.jpg

Get it finished and we'll have to set something up!

There’s one on Facebook marketplace in Denver right now. Sounds like the guy just bought a 77 blazer with the camper on it, but wants to put a regular hard top on it

If your K5 is driveable better make plans to come to CO quickly to get this one.

I’m frantically trying to find it with no luck. Can you send me a link or anything ?

It looked like it was pending this morning when I left for work. Hopefully it was from you! If you send me your number I can shoot you the link via text

PENDING PICK UP. If this person doesn’t show, we will move onto the next person in line. We have a ton of people interested. Thanks everyone!

That's the latest update from the sellers post. I had a feeling it would be like this. Hell if I had the extra coin I would have got it.

You should scrounge it up and get it. You know it'll flip, esp if you only add a few $ for your troubles.
