I picked up a 2 wheel drive 4500 from the wrecking yard today and someone had already pulled the top cover. The engine had a rod thru the oil pan so I figure it might be worth finding a top cover. 92-95 Chev or 92-97 Dodge will work I believe.
Thanks for any help. Or will sell transmission for $450.00

Any idea what the condition is?
I have a 99 2wd that needs rebuilding, trying to see if it's worth getting it from you.
Will any parts from mine work on that transmission?

Only that the engine that was in front of it had a rod coming out the side of the oil pan. One would assume it was at least going down the road. Looking inside I cannot see anything out of place. I will post up some pics tomorrow.
Not sure about a 99 parts interchange, the net says 92-94.

Yeah, I am trying to avoid having to build my own.
I know the first gear is lower on those years but I don't know if the top plate is any different.
I will wait for your pictures

I believe the shift covers can swap. I saw a lot of threads about guys putting the later 4 bolt top on the earlier units. There are gearing differences as well as synchronized first and reverse.

It's what I thought.
If I can make it complete with parts from mine I will buy it.

I will double check to make sure but both @Fastereddie and I believe parts interchange.
If I confirm, I will buy it.
Maybe someone coming to the Rubicon can bring it this way.

Everything looks as it should. I do not see any problems gear wise. I will include the bellhousing because your 99 bell will not bolt up.
