Wanted: Original 1979 AM/FM Cassette Player

The original one for my 1979, with a musical note on one button and some other strange symbol in the other button. I don't know if other years will fit or look similar, though.

I don't mind if it's working or not (it won't even be connected), but it must look good and complete with buttons. I just want to cover the hole in the dash with a classic look, since I have my amp/minidisc setup.

The radio IS NOT a cassette deck as I had originally stated (bad mistake on my part, next time I'll double check first before speaking!! sorry), if you still want it I'll take $10 AND ship it to you free. Let me know...Doc
 
Sure I'll take it as long as it fits in that ugly hole in my dashboard, looks stock, looks fine (no scratches or broken parts), and has those chrome buttons.

I already have 600w amp + 12" sub connected to a portable Minidisc player, so it's only for looks.

I still don't have a radio. What did all of you do with those "pieces of junk" that came with your Blazers/Jimmys/Suburbans/Trucks??!!

As I said before, it doesn't matter if it doesn't work, it's only for looks. It won't even be connected. The only requirements is to fit this hole: http://www.blazer79.coloradok5.com/Pic_IntCtrlPanel.htm and look like the original one.

I have the one out of my 84...don't know if that would work for you? It is the cassette deck, and it looks like it would fit in the opening in your dash. I would have to dig it of the box in the garage to be sure. It worked hit and miss, but I beleive the problem was in the wiring, not the radio...I could be wrong though. Let me know if you're interested.

Ok, I dug it out of the garage today. I dont have a digital camara or scanner, so I cant post a pic. Sorry. Looking at the radio, and looking at the hole in your dash, it looks like it should fit, but there's no way to tell for sure. It does have the chrome buttons you were talking about. It also has a knob with a musical note and another knob with some little wierd thing on it. Shipping might be a lot, because this thing is pretty heavy. I'm thinking $35 plus shipping.

LMC truck has new dual shaft type radios that will fit with no cutting, and have either a bowtie or a gmc on it... not sure if this fits your needs though, theyre about 200$ if I remember right

These things are EXPENSIVE

OK, I want it, but I'd like to see a pic of it first. Maybe you can borrow a digital camera from a friend. If you can get that pic and I like it you'll have yourself a deal.

ok, I've got a camera that has like 1 or 2 pics left, so I will try to take one and get it developed and have them put it on one of those CDs. I will post it as soon as I can.

Wait a second...I just read your profile...your willing to pay shipping from california to guatamala? Sending money might be a problem too.
