WAR DECLARED!!!!!!!!

I agree, we are so far ahead we don't have a thing to worry about. I voted anyway!

If it breaks, it wasn't good enough!

Anyway, they obviously don't remember what their parents taught them. Cheaters never prosper!!

<hr></blockquote>

Yeah, you're right. The cheating thing isn't very cool. Getting to first place this month wasn't really about taking you guys down. It was a bet with one of our members. If we took first he'd change his username from "Jeepster". We just got a little crazy after that! :)

So we'll give you a run for your money this month, even if we can't win (you do out number us like 9:1) All in good, clean fun!

Oh and speaking of cheating...Let's take a peek at the CK5 archives shall we?

"I should be able to put in quite a few votes in a single day. I can go to all the computer labs on campus and vote with a bunch of computers. If I have nothing better to do that could be worth a few hundred votes at least. There's about 2000 public access computers on my campus so if I get some friends in on it, you never know... we could be at the top forever! I don't think I'll have that much free time though. I should be able to put in about 50 or 60 votes in a day, realistically. Classes start thursday so we're definitely going to be at the top next month." - jcg 11/29/00 02:01 AM

"I vote from 2 to 5 different computers every day, so I'm putting in 60 to 100 votes each month. Somebody out there ain't doin' their part!" - HarryH3 01/31/01 09:16 AM

"If you get off the internet and then back on you can vote again, so technically you can vote many times during the day!" - Emmettology 101 01/31/01 11:37 AM

"If your on a dial out modem then you can vote when you log off and back on since your IP changes, but with a T1, DSL or Cable your IP stays the same." - MudFrog 01/31/01 02:38 PM

"If you delete your cookies (or just their cookie) you can also vote as many times as you like. They don't refresh often, so it won't reflect it inmediately." - Blazer79 01/31/01 09:33 PM

<font color=purple> I personally vote just the 2 alotted times a day and that's it !

Guilty as charged for posting that

, BUT, I actually only tried it once. I could never really identify 4x4 sites' cookie and didn't want to delete all my cookies everyday.

Anyway, we were always on top, so there was no need for trying that trick again.

Hey EB...

Damn dude why don't you fill in the profile? If I was to register on yer site I'd at least let you guys know a little about me...
smile.gif

There is always talk of how to cheat the voting...but I haven't seen any successful and persistant cheats yet. Frankly once I'm logged in here it takes a reminder to vote. Hell, I'm here...why would I leave?

It is all in fun (I hope) as most of us wheel and wrench with people that have all types of rides...good luck and take care.

p.s. : Any more on the rear tire carrier , Rene ?

First I would like to say Hi to EB and welcome to CK5. Hope you come back now and then and visit.
I started this thread just to have a little fun. I also posted under my "Thunder" name on the Classic Bronco BB Vote Vote Vote thread. Saying that we welcomed the challenge.
I didn't think there were any rules. So I dont see how anyone is cheating.
This is all in fun folks. Dont take it too seriously. I thought it would give everyone something to do besides reading posts and building our trucks.
Acually I like to see CK5 next to Classic Broncos more than Dodge or Jeep. Its only fitting that the two best 4x4s going should head Top 4x4.

Just in case you come back and read this EB, I have a point to make. We MAY have over 3000 registered users, but check out the user list and see how many pages(25 of them) of "users" have never even posted ONCE!!!!!!! I would say that there's about 250 hardcore users and probably another 500 casual viewers. Your 9:1 figure is only accurate on paper

.

Feel free to drop by anytime...........We have a really knowledgeable group here, and they're always eager to help. In fact, a lot of guys have either driven or still(GASP) drive your brand of truck, and could probably give you a hand if you needed one.................

Alright, alright. I filled in my steenkin' profile. Geez, Rene doesn't let anyone sneak around over here does he?

As for the number of registered vs. active members...Our forums have the same problem. Plus now I have a bunch of Chevy guys floating around over there too! Certainly can't count on them for a vote!
wink.gif

OK, so maybe you only have 5 times as many active users as I do. But that doesn't explain why you're only 60% ahead in the polls!
smile.gif

I actually have to admit that I've got a soft spot for K5's. My best friend in college had (still has) a built 72 K5. He's the one who got me into wheeling in the first place. Of course when I was looking for a truck of my own I needed to be sure I got something that would pull him out of trouble. That's why I got the Bronco!

Take it easy guys. I'll poke around every once in a while. Reading through your archives it sounds like this site's gone through some financial growing pains that I can probably learn from as my own site grows. Great resource you've got here. Keep it up!

It's been lovely, but I have to scream now.

Hey, John. Welcome to CK5!!!!! You're right about growing pains and such- I've been around here since almost the beginning and the changes that have occured in the last two years are mind-boggling(or maybe that's just me

!!! Steve Fox has done an incredible job with this site and you could probably learn oodles from him.

Anyhow, there's nothing wrong with a little friendly rivalry

Hey John, welcome to Ck5! The post I made earlier was intended to put a burr under the saddle of any passing thru Classic Bronco member. Of course, it was in the spirit of good fun. I wondered if anyone from your site would see it. I never expected a response from the big Kahuna.

So you have a member with the name Jeepster and your members want him to change it? That explains everything!!

BTW, you did a good job digging up our dirty little secrets. The CK5 search engine works pretty good, doesn't it?

Next time you come to visit, why not post a link to some PIC's of your '72. We love to see PIC's.

Now you come back and visit anytime. We always welcome everyone to this site. And don't forget to vote for CK5 on your way out. LMAO!!
