warn 12000 lb winche

i just purchased a warn 12000 lb winch and was wondering if anyone has the smae winch and had and related problems with it... or things i should stay away from.. like pullin to long or so on. i have the cable and roller fairlead with it also. thanks

I actually have 2 of em'. In my experince they will pull like hell but, can over heat after long pulls so just let it rest after each pull. Also try and keep the solieniod box out of harms way. Also if you can sythetic line makes these winches so much more user friendly not to mention safer.

If they tend to heat up easily, you might want to avoid syn line?

I've got one and it does allright. I've had it for almost 10 years now so its probably due some TLC. The only problem I have had with it was the solenoids have gone out twice. I carry spares now but both times this happened two of the four solenoids were bad.

thanks.. say for instince i burn it up all i have to do is rewire the solenoid... i just am curious of ne problems i might run into.. so all in all good winch just keep the pulls short and i should be good..

Have yall actually been able to find 3/8" 12k lb synthetic rope? Cause I havent seen any available over 9k.
