has anyone rigged up something to put a 8274 on the front of there bumper??? i'm going to get myself one as a christmas get to myself but can't afford a nice winch bumper right now. i'm not scared to hack away at the stock bumper. if anyone has done this and has pics i'd appreciate it

I built a cradle to mount mine on the front of my dually. It mounts to the four center bumper bolts.

Russ. nice setup with that winch. what is that clevis that is sticking out of your license plate connected to. I have a 72 K5 and want to keep my stock bumper where I have a "hidden hitch" type thing going on and wouldn't show behind a hinged license plate frame. I need a strong tow point to connect a strap to. COuld you take pictures of underneith and behind the bumper and post them to show whats happening back there?

I used a winch mount that was on my friends CJ7 and removed the bumper. It fits perfectly between the frame suprisingly. I have 52's up front so the front bumper wasn't a choice for me....

Not a 8274, but it will be when I get one. Just uses standard 2 inch accessories!

Here is a couple of pictures right after I built it. That is just a 2" receiver that I welded to the bottom of it. It comes in real handy for moving my trailer around as I can drive it forward.

I use my truck primarily as a work/farm truck so did not try and tuck the mount up tight. This would probably stick out to far for someone who was wanting to do a lot of 4wheeling.

You could always mount it behind the bumper.

Altho I had to do a lot of work to make room for it. :eek1:

that's pretty sweet looking. I thought I did good when I tucked mine in, but apparentally you moved the rad back and put in electric fans?

Who needs a radiator? Just drive faster. :D

PS radiator is mounted in the back/bed behind the cab. :wink1:

i think this is the setup i'm going to have to go with so i can use the winch on the front or the rear!

when you got the winch did it have the craddle it's sitting in or did you build that also?

It's called a Multi-mount at Warn. It comes ready to slide into a 2 inch receiver, or you can make your own mount. http://warn.iwebcat.com/_Members/lookups/partdetail.asp
