I gotta have one of these.

Which ones have you seen in use, and why do you like it?

I like the 9.5xp, but its more $$

anybody have one of these in use?

I have the XD9000 and haven't had any issues with it. Pulls strong.

From what I know the XP is more towards the competition side with line speed. Both good winches. I'd compare things like line speed, weight, price and go from there.

The XD has the housing over the spool so make sure you don't want to do a hidden mount.

I have a 9500TI and I love it. Its never let me down yet.

The standard XD does not have a housing over the spool, that is only the integrated version.

being the xp is a

and the XD is a premium series...

and reliability WARN Limited Lifetime Warranty

i would assume the xp is a better made unit... the line speed is a fair amount faster...

Well line speed is cool I guess, and I'll just be happy to get out with a winch, from whatever sh!t I have gotten myself into. I don't see getting into any competition, and the XD seems to have the same operators manual as the XP. I found the XD for 890 shipped, and the XP for 1050 shipped.

I have a 9000I and have been using it for about 4 years with no issues. I run rope in mine also. I use it hard doing recovery for comps and really like the speed and power it has.

I went with the XD.... they where much easier to find used.... i'm sure the xp is sweet, and if i won a lottery, sure, but i couldn't justify over a grand for the winch...

I only paid $550.00 for my XD9000 brand new from 4 wheel parts about 8 years ago. I'm surprised they went up that much in price in 8 years.

I just checked their site, they have the 9.5XP for 1030 with free shipping, and Warn has a 100$ rebate on it too. The XD9000 is 860, free shipping, but no rebate.

Wherever you find it the cheapest, call PORC and he'll beat it...at least he used to.
