I was thinking of asking for a Warn Calssic front Bumper in black for my truck for x-mas. I was then going to buy lights for it and a Warn 9500i. I like the Warn bumper and in black it's only $280. I just wanted to know it anybody has one and if they do could send me a pic of it. Does anyone know anything about them? Good bumpers? Thanks

If it aint Chevy it aint worth anything.

ive got the chrome one on my 88...its a decent bumper except for the outsides of it( the parts that are flat on top like two platforms where you would mount the lights) are flimsy as hell...ive seen em get ripped off and mangled...mine on the drivers side is bent upwards a little after i got stuck in a mudhole and a buddy of mine winched me out...i was stuck so deep the winch cable was actually kind of pulling up on the bumper and it turned upward...if youre not going to be encountering many trees it wouldnt be a bad idea

Later

Have you driven OVER a Ford lately?

You get what you pay for.....they are nice looking bumpers....but as Rebel said the outsides are really flimsy...personally, I don't trust em.

Why do people keep calling it a Bronco!!!!!

I'm gonna have to agree. That bumper is a POS. Sorry but don't get it. Yer better off with something custom. SEC or KMA make a STEEL bumper. I have the KMA one. Got it back in 99, took for ever to get it like 6 1/2 weeks. So far it has served me well. My buddy HAD one of thoes Warn Cl. and like the other guys said the bumper's ends will fail on first contac with the trail.......

I have the black Classic. It is somewhat weaker than I wanted at the ends, but it is not THAT bad for the money. I have beat mine all to hell for 5 years and it still on there! The center section where you mount the winch is very strong. I have bent my ends somewhat. Now, if you wanted to really strengthen it, you could have some extra supports welded on to the ends back to the frame. I really like the "platform" it gives for getting in to the hood, is very nice to work on, nice and stable. It's not the strongest bumper you can buy, but it sure is cheaper!! You can see mine here:

I've got the same bumper your talking about, and I would agree with what everone else has said. It's solid in the middle where the winch sits, but the sides are pretty thin. They won't take much abuse at all. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gotten a different bumper. However, I do like the fact that it's not real heavy since you don't need a lot of weight on the front.

That Ford is shown with the optional Grille / Brush Guard combo - that is only available for the 88-99 Chevy Trucks with Classics and the 92-96 Fords with Classics - the classic bumpers that fit these trucks are slightly different than the ones for the 73-87 Chev - you could make the two fit with little fabrication - I looked at doing that for my '75 - but then no telling if the brushguards will match the headlights or not...

I have one on my truck as well. Click on the link below to see the pic. Like everyone said, it's sides are weak, but the winch mount is 1/4" thick and very strong. To make this bumper work with the HS9500i, you'll have to fab it up a little.
I'm going to fab up my own front bumper soon, and sell mine if your're interested. The mount kit and bumper and instructions for $160. PM me or email me if you're interested. Mine has been fabbed to work with the HS9500i.

I've got one too, in chrome. Maybe the hardcore nuts don't like them but they are fine for your normal wheeling. Sure the sides could bend if you bang trees or rocks, but I try to avoid those.........

And the Warn M12000 bolted directly in with no mods. Gotta love that............and for the price you pay (1/2 the cost of SEC) its pretty good value.

yeah for me price is an issue i don't have much money and cant go spending $400-500 on a front bumper and still have to buy a winch afterward. but i like the ARB ones do they make one for our trucks?

people that get good mileage aren't having any fun!

I have one with the 12k winch and had to re-inforce it to make it even marginally strong. Pretty cheap POS for a winch bumper. They look OK but hardly nothing I would call "bullet proof". See mine here:

I think I might get one just for the hell of it and re-inforce it. I saw yours Sparky and I really like that grill brush guard on it. How do I get that when ordering. I will probably be ordering it from 4 wheel parts. If I can get one with that brush grill guard I am going to go ahead an get one. Thanks

If it aint Chevy it aint worth anything.

I've had one on my 85' the sides are really flimsy, but the winch mount is solid. If you are looking for something strong I would avoid it. I'm going to weld supports to it to make it stronger, because i dont't have the money for a different one.

Loved mine, but i just sold it. didnt like the approache angle on it. only thing bad about it in my eyes. that and 5 years ago when i bought it the could have used a better paint or powder coat.
hit a cemnt pole with it at about 3MPH and it dindt do anything to it. broke the concreet though.

I like mine just fine, it is nice platform to work off of and is sturdy enough for the wheeling down here.
Some pics of the <a target="_blank" href=http://community.webshots.com/album/21112089nuqitdhdXb>bumper</a>
