I just bought an older Warn winch mount/ brush guard, called the "combo kit" when it was sold new by Warn. It was last on a '89 Blazer. It's in fair shape, I'm in the process of straightening it up so I can put the 8274 off on one of my Jeeps on my '90 Blazer. I did not get the brackets that mount it to the bumper bolts. Does anyone still run one of these that could get me some pics of the factory brackets? I can certainly build some brackets and make it work, but I'd really like to see the original brackets. Thank you in advance!
I have searched GToogle with basically no luck. The best pics I've found of this was by searching "Fall Guy truck"...;)

Is yours the type where the main frame is straight up vertical or does it taper back towards the hood?

It tapers back towards the hood at the top. I'll get some pics tomorrow, it's at the shop.

Ok. It's hard to tell in the pic but the one I had just had tabs welded 90 degrees to the vertical frame. The tabs lined up with the 4 main bumper bolts and there were no additional brackets under the bumper. Also, the truck pictured is an 80 but the combo originally came off of an 84.

Iirc, the tapered versions had angle iron like brackets that bolted to the bumper and also the vertical frame.

The guy I got it from pulled it off another Blazer, and said the brackets were basically just pieces of angle iron. I can fab some nice brackets, but I just really wanted to see what Warn provided. I'm surprised I can't find more (hardly any) pics of this unit on a square body.
I reckon if I use 1/4" angle, the 4 bumper bolts (I'll use Gr.8 bolts) is enough. I mean, a foot-down winch such as the M8000 is bolted down with 4, 3/8" bolts..

I would appreciate that very much. Thank you!

I got lucky, a friend of mine had it laying around. It does need some work,, but I'm making progress. The bonus is, my '67 CJ5 has an 8274 that's been used once, and it'l really too heavy for the little Jeep. I'll put it on this for the Blazer, and put a lower profile 8 or 9K Engo on the Jeep..

Perfect! Thank you @nbrown2500
Mine had been tack welded together, and one of the side plates was bent. I carefully cut the welds so I could take it apart and get the plate on the press and flatten it. Just about there, next is to fab brackets, squirt the whole thing with Rustoleum truck bed coating, and get it installed.

For what it is worth. My bumper was sprayed with Rustoleum bed liner when it was made. After about 2 years it is wearing through due to abrasion from wind and dirt. I have plans of having it blasted and primed properly, then LineX bed liner applied. I know it is more expensive, but had it been done right the first time I would led not have to go to all the trouble of re-doing the work.

I've done 3 different Jeep grills with it, and it does far, far better than any spray paint. I also did the Blazer grill, and lots of other parts. It's also easy to touch up. In my experience ,and for the money, it does well. If I had a Line-x closer than 100 miles away I might consider it. I do have a nephew who works there...

I'd love to find one of the tapered versions to use to build a brush guard on my diy4x bumper center, I want to end up with a low profile version of something like the old Warn winch bumper that had a brush on it.

I had one of these brand new back in the day and found it not very substantial. After bending it while winching, I went Warns winch bumper. Much stronger.

That is not put together properly. The part you have facing forward is the winch mount part. It should be laying flat, not vertical across the front.
That would be correct for a foot-down winch. It's assembled for a foot-forward winch like the 8274, which is what was on it, and what I'm putting back on it. The mount is made for either, and you flip the plate depending on which style winch you use.

I know they probably weren't the strongest but for me it's a iconic truck accessory. Any decent rig had one it seems like when I was a kid. Love the looks.
