Has anyone used Warns front mount reciever hitch? I'm curious on how some have had figment issues. Looking to install it on a 91 and retain my tow hooks.

Thanks!

I installed one on an M1009 CUCV, aka 1984 Blazer, but those don't have the same style tow hooks so I can't help you there.

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but it looks like the thing installs entirely inside the frame rails. If the hooks are entirely *outside*, then you should be fine... but I seem to recall them being twisted somehow, so that may be the problem.

Or have you actually tried it? Worst case, you get some other flatter tow hooks, yeah?

The tow hooks are on the outside of the frame rail, but if they are factory tow hooks, there are braces riveted to the inside of the frame rails behind the tow hooks.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I FWD the concerns about figment to Warn. Hope to hear back from them.

Ive got one. It was easy to install, but dont' think the warn bolts were long enough to go through the tow hooks. Had to get longer ones.

Besides that, no fitment issues for me.

Not a bad product. What are you using it for?

I was running a front bike rack, but it blocks the headlights too much at night.

Here's pics from my install

Thanks for the reply. My fear was Blazers equipped with factory tow hooks have frame inserts. Those inserts require something like an air hammer or chisel to remove them.

I'm just looking to hang a basket to carry light duty items on the front, that's all.

You should be fine. My guess is you won't need all those washers I needed

So these brackets aren't going be a problem inside my rails?

Hey you don't recall what size bolts you had to buy do yo? Trying to have everything I need when the reciever arrives.

No idea

I'll see if i can put a tape on it tonight. 1-1.5" longer than what warn sent, if you can open the box up before you need to install.

Installed it tonight. Biggest problem was 1 bumper bolt. Thank God the bolts behind the bumpers impact strip came out. Anyways I used the provided shims and needed no additional washers. As mentioned with tow hooks the supplied bolts are too short. Used 4 7/16 by 3.5" and it mounted up fine. Cut out the front plastic valance (or whatever it's called) and with the supplied plug it's not even noticeable.
Looks good to me.

Sweet. Didn't have the front valence on my 3/4 ton.

Glad it worked out.
