i have warn locking hubs on my 10 bolt an the drivers side is loose i went over all the screws and made sure they were tight and its still loose you can see where grease is starting to work its way out of the hubs. has anyone else had this problem?

my suburban's doing that. really all that holds em in is the lock ring so I guess a little wiggling is ok but the grease part sucks.. splattering on my rims. bad O-rings maybe?? mine were new last year and have been doing that since I put them in

They have little rebuild kits for them with new o-rings and screws. Super easy to replace that stuff.

I might try that I don't know what's up with it I can push on the hub and it seats in and doesn't move but when I pull on it comes unseated I'm thinking it might be the o rings

I don't think the o-rings should be providing much structural support. Even without them it should sit tight, its just that some grease may work its way out. I assume you snugged down the screws?

If I remember correctly there is a snap ring that can be eliminated when you install them as per the Warn instructions. Did you remove it?

I'm not sure they were on the truck when I got it when I rebuilt the front I just put them back the way they were.im gunna look at the instructions first but I think the screws may be too long I might bring them in to work and cut them down a little

The small snap ring around the axle shaft is still in place that's the first thing I checked is the larger ring supposed to be removed mine is still in there.

I've got some pics here of when I swapped from the autos to Warns:

Might help you out; there was a snap ring on the axle I believe that I had to remove to get everything to fit proper, and I don't think it was mentioned in the directions.

Good luck!

EDIT:
Page 3 of that gallery shows an inner C-clip as well as a washer that needs to come out...

Just pulled everything apart and the washer and snap ring are removed I swapped the the outside of the hub to the other side now it only has about a 1/16 of play in it. Is that right or should it be tight?

Once you tighten the outer cap screws the hub shouldn't move. It pulls the hub lock into the outer snap ring. Iirc my cap screws had a lock washer under the head. Have you tried switching side for side and see if there is a difference? Just don't over torque the cap bolts. They break easily.

I switch the outer part of the hub and it got a little better I think the problem is that the screws are bottoming out.

Got It figured out I went and got some lock washers it still wiggles a little but nowhere near as bad as it was.

Thanks

They shouldn't wiggle at all if everything is installed correctly. Everything should be tight fitting.

They fit tight enough to seal that's all I'm worried about for now I have a 44 I'm going to swap once I get the money to build it
