Warn?

who runs a warn front winch bumper? like it? is it solid or pretty weak?

I think I have a Warn winch bumper on the front of my truck I am not 100% sure it is a Warn. I bought it used and that is what I was told it was. My thoughts and opinions I have heard from others:

I think it is pretty weak. Other I have talked to about theres say the same thing. I have heard they bend pretty easy and I can tell you mine isn't totally straight. I cut the ends off mine for appearence reasons and I am going to be cutting on it some more for clearnence reasons. It totally kill approach angles, but that is the trade off for having a Warn 12K winch on the front of my truck. I am going to reinforce the bumper with some angle iron after I make my future cuts on it for clearence. It should hold up ok for awhile.

When I get the money I am going to buy or build a new custom front bumper that is beefy. I only put the Warn bumper on because I needed a place to mount my winch I got a screaming deal on. Look around and spend some extra cash and get something you will be happy with and that will take a beating.

I have one but it is modified. The sides are weak but the winch mount is solid. I made new top plates for the sides out of .188 and also raised the bumper up some. I plan to keep it on since I like having the step for working on the engine but I do plan to modify it more.
