UPDATE : passed on this for the price point and miles .

Did score my moms old 2006 suzuki grand vitara v6 auto awd tho for less money and i know whole history .

she gets another suzuki grand vitara 2006 i found her with 55k miles 1 owner full history local purchase and serviced in durham nc area so its CLEAN . Had a friend go look at it that lives down there and he confirmed it clean .

crazy part is both of these are twins except new #2 is only 2wd . But we dont care . 1000003114.jpg

Found a clean 2003 zr2 4door v6 near me . Asking 4500 bucks . Was used most its life behind a motor home . Only 1 partal winter this year in snow belt . But was undercoated before season .

Only thing got me wondering is 215,500 miles . Is the speedo cable so most is flat tow miles or is it electric so its true miles . Looks like same engine in my moms next gen body suzuki grand vitara and its been solid at almost 130k miles . Its a auto trans and i like the selectable 4x4 NOT awd .

Has 4 snow tires on it and clean inside . For one of these up here it sure looks clean . I just need a good buggy for d.d. use and get me to job quotes .

If it was cheap, it'd be fun to bomb around on the trails.

Had several.

That's basically the same engine as your mom's Grand Vitara. 2.5L V6. They had timing chain issues but many were fixed under TSB's. The gas mileage isn't stellar, expect upper teens. 90's tech V6 with a 4 speed auto trans. Really look under the body and frame for rust issues but if it's solid they're a good platform. MacPherson strut IFS, body on frame construction, transfer case with low range, solid rear axle, etc.

You can put Warn/Aisin/whoever locking hubs on by just taking off the drive slugs from the ends of the axles.

That's a ZR2 so should have skid plates on it. Throw some 235/75R15 tires of your choosing on it and it'll go a lot of places. Throw on some mud tires and it'll go more. Weld the rear and it'll be a beast. Say F-it and get out the sawzall and put 31's on it and it'll go until you break something. How crazy you want to go depends on how much time and money you want to spend.

Or just drive it. Change the oil a lot. Good synthetic with a good filter and frequent oil changes will prevent a lot of the timing chain issues if it doesn't have them.

So is the speedo cable or electric ? That would help determine if the 215k miles is mostly flat tow or driven .

And its clean under it for sure by the 15 pics .

I just need a good little parts runner / beater / job quote rig .

I am 6ft tall and longer in legs . Cant fit in a miata . So is there room for me inside this ?

There asking $4,500 obo . But up here in rust belt its CLEAN . So not afraid to pay a little more .

Electric. Went to that in ‘99.

I’m 6’ with long legs and fit in all mine just fine.

They’re good vehicles. Sad part is a lot of people treated them as disposable so now the pool of non-shitboxes is low.

So if it shows 215k thats alllllllll running time . . As clean as it is i dont know about 215k miles on a 03 and limited parts left .

This point i rather find a clean 1992-up blazer obs .

Eh. I’d look at it at least. I’m pretty sure those counted revolutions even when the ignition was off. I remember guys talking about it on the forums relating to flat towing them that was 20 years ago.

I drove the ever loving crap out of one of those when I was in my early twenties. I put over 200,000 miles on it before I sold it. Mine was the 4 cylinder and it was an '03. My biggest complaint on it was it was an absolute slug on the interstate. I couldn't even use the cruise control it was geared so low. It would high Rev on any Hill when you got up above 70 and had the cruise on. Nonetheless, I drove it in over 30 different states. Had a lot of good times in that thing. For the most part it was easy to work on other than getting to the oil filter on that 4 cylinder. I put a k&n styled cold air on it, it definitely made it sound meaner LOL.

I do remember the popularity for flat towing for those. The question of counting mileage while towing comes down to if the key is required to be on or off when towed. Obviously if the key stays off, the mileage won't accrue. IF the key needs to be on then yeah the mileage on there is going to count while towing.

I don't remember specifically but many other GM vehicle that did have flat tow capability usually had to have the key on to keep the steering unlocked. Not sure if the Suzuki based Tracker needs to be on or off.

Made it home yesterday afternoon. Looks like it did in the pics . This weekend will get it in the shop and up on the lift . Needs headlights from fuzzy age out and rear shocks for some weird reason ? Then what ever else i might think to do to it for maintenance.

Then to the body got for few touch ups and paintless dent repair .

this is so close to #1 it even has the same exact tires on it :rotfl:

Never had one of those. My latest was an ‘04. Heard they were still pretty good.

It have low range? That was a bit of a kerfuffle when it happened in the new body style.

Build thread? SAS/SRA coming? Would probably look pretty cool on full widths and 35’s.
