I saw an ad for a 75 K5 and it had a half cab. I asked the guy and he swore it was a 75, smog exepmt and all. So was the half cab done mid 75? I thought only 76 and beyond were halfs?

Thanks for the help

Well, 1975 model year trucks are full convertible and 1976 model year trucks are half cabs.

Particularly for trucks and /or older vehicles, some states title by year of manufacture as opposed to model year. A 1976 model year truck could easily have been made at some point in 1975, and so could be referred to as a "1975". This may be the case for the smog regs as well, i.e. vehicles manufactured before for instance 1 January 1976 are exempt,.

In short, the VIN will be the accurate way to determine its model year ... and I'm willing to bet that it's a 1976 model year.
