Washer Pump

Does anyone make a decent 12v washer pump?

I have tried a couple generic ones on my 84 K20. It's mounted close to the Res and draws through the factory cap. Screen is clear I just get a weak stream.

Sounds kinda personal. :rotfl:
But much like other weak stream issues, it could be that something is pinching the tube causing it to lose pressure. I’d inspect the line to look for a kink. Also, disconnect the line coming out of the pump and see what the stream looks like there, just have some kind of catchment handy.

No restrictions, 12v feed, good ground, just trickle's out of the pump. It's located close to the res and below so it's not pulling vs pushing.
 
Ok, I’m not familiar with your truck, what year? Pics would be helpful. If it’s the one in your avatar then I’m guessing you had to remove the original pump from the bottom of the reservoir to plumb in the new one.

The pump is fed via the res in Stock fashion. Hose inside the tank connects to fill cap.
 
Since you inquire about better...

The later style with the pump mounted in the reservoir is a superior design. No idea what all would be required to make that design work (new style reservoir, pump obviously, maybe just extend the original pump wiring?) but the reservoir mounted ones seem to be less problematic.

Then again, with a new pump, even the old style should be functional. I would think blowing through the sections of hoses to ensure they are clear of debris would be a good idea, and as mentioned, disconnecting while the pump is running and seeing if you can narrow down where flow is impeded.
 
Is it possible that there’s a restricted, collapsed spot etc in the hose or tubes between the pump and squirters?

What happens when you remove the outlet hose from the pump, strong or weak stream?
 
I have a few factory style reservoirs with the pump in them.

I’ve been wanting upgrade to the newer style setup. How much would you want for this kind shipped to 89002?
 
I’ve used a jug with pump from a 90’s s10. Pulled from a boneyard and wired in to the factory pump at the wiper motor. Worked great plus the S10 jug holds almost twice as much as the stock squarebody stuff.
I don’t think I have room for a too much bigger tank. I do like the idea of retaining the stock pulse pump on the wiper motor as the splitter. Maybe just remove the guts.

I had plenty of room in my ‘75 for the bigger jug. I ran a longer hose from where the “t” would normally got to the pump on the motor and ran it directly to the pump on the jug. I didn’t want the stock mechanical pump on the motor to be a restriction.

I have a PSC reservoir and cooler and coilovers and cage and arb compressor all on that side all wanting to party lol

Show off. My ‘75 was as basic as they get. And as such there was tons of unused space.

I wanted to use it on my ‘91 and it was no bueno. Second battery, onboard air compressor all took up the room so I had to stick with the stock ‘91 jug stayed put.

I forgot about the battery there too!
 
I struggling here, I’m not aware of GM ever having a washer fluid pump that wasn’t either operated by the wiper motor itself or mounted in the base of the tank like Kenny posted. It sounds like what you’re describing is something that’s not original. Are pics an option?

You are correct. The one @Truckman4life linked from Napa is universal inline pump.
Me and zoo are talking about the pump in tank gm ones
