I am looking at a 1987 K-5 Blazer that i would love to restore however it has two problems that i would really like to know wat the potential problems are. When driving it if you turn the steering wheel slightly left and right the front end seems to wander or a floating type sensation, and second when shifting into drive the drive shaft turns about 1/2 turn before engaging...was wondering wat the potential problems could be....any help is greatly appreciated.;)

As far as the steering problem, it could be bad tie rod ends, drag links, or ball joints. As far as the driveshaft, sounds like the rearend is about worn out. Could be worn teeth on the ring and pinion, or worn out spider gears. Someone else will chime in if I missed something.

Mechanical lockers will generally act like this.

My bet is that the rear end is about to go though.
