same thing happend to me when i dropped my tank to fix the floor. this was the problem.

OK here is the latest. i changed the oil just because and then descided to to THE MEXICAN TUNE UP. WTH right?so i start cranking it no pumping and after 15 20 seconds it fired and died. so i pumped it a little and crancked again.it fired and died. i have the choke zip tied open so thats to be expected anyway i pumped and crancked again same thing then i smelled something funny and looked in the engine compartment and saw the carb soaked in gas and dripping off the choke so i try it one more time and the same thing as long as i hold the pedal it runs let off dead.float stuck maybe?? .

Check your float, it may be bad. If it's ok, check the float level and make sure it's correct(if it's a recent problem I'd doubt it's float level) and check your needle and seat to make sure no trash is in it letting gas get by.

she be gettin re built in a day or so.i have two other q jets but they are all a little different.so i'll rebuild this one and see..

Hey Daryl, easy way ti find out if it is water: 5 gallon gas can with fuel hose to fuel pump. If it runs good like that, then you know its whats in the fuel tank, or associated with the fuel tank.

i did that 3 years ago and it blew the pump and filled the oil pan with gas. it sucked a big coffee can full of gas in 10 seconds.twice.
