cant say for sure as thay are the same housing. its the guts that make it diffrent.
thay are cheep buy a new one and use a old one for core.

Ive got one from the old engine that I will use. Just was curious to what it was from.

as mentioned previously, you can tell just external visual, but if it's been on that motor in the pic (which it looks like it has been) and the other accessories have been on that same motor, it's a pretty sure bet, it's NOT for serpentine

well neither the steering pump or the alt came with this motor. so the question still lingers. but doesnt really matter. i was just curious.
From looking at the casting on the passenger side where the old style lower alternator/smog pump bracket would bolt that is for a V-pulley set-up. The serp water pumps don't have that casting there.
Buy the serp pump and remove the cover on the back and look at which direction the blades are on the impeller then remove the cover on this pump and compare and they should be opposite.
